Cult of Riggonia was amazing!!! Thank you guys for being a part of Forest Stage curated by Ho**er Vision and Drones in the Garden. They brought out their families, custom crafted props and were decked out in the Riggonian robes that those who have seen them play before recognize as iconic. The eastern influences they graced the Forest Stage with were perfectly executed as always, transmitting an energy that’s at once both playful and calming. We’re so happy to have had them share the space and vision with us and the other artists, as well as to share our recent split tape of Modern Lamps with them on the A-side:

Blown away by Sophie Hull of Sleep Number’s set, not to mention her gorgeous lighting in the work.shop space and collaborative installation with Lynn Fister for the Drones in the Garden aspect of the visual presence. Sophie and Lynn brought the forest inside and made it a magickal, illuminated, breathing and immersive experience for all other artists to take part in. Thank you so much Sophie for gracing Athens with your presence:

We were thrilled to get to see Lea and Jonathan perform as Lea Lea including material from the cassette we just released on Ho**er Vision as well as new music too! The family vibe was strong as it was with Cult of Riggonia - creative parents with their children both in the audience and on stage 🥹 the giggles and playful spirit and presence at cat beanie babies. One of Lea’s daughters even joined her for harmony on several song. Unforgettable - we were weeping ♥️ joyous - if you missed it, Lea plays work.shop again this coming Saturday night May 30th!!

We were over the moon to see Lynn Fister perform solo as Farewell Phoenix for the third time in less than a year!! What year is it?! Angelic and otherworldly vocals, and harp through modular synthesis - Lynn’s Drones in the Garden presence brought what felt like levitating pyramids of nature indoors with her soundscape seemingly blowing gently on the hanging delicate sculptures. Fleeting. Beautiful!!! So grateful for Lynn’s touch, vision, and collaboration on the Forest Stage and event:

Grant and I truly loved performing again as Modern Lamps. It was so refreshing and felt so good to jam with one another surrounded by the Drones in the Garden (Lynn Fister and Sophie Hull) rainbow 🌈 lighting and spinning 🌱 botanical sculptures - such a dream!! Thank you to all who attended:

Mason Brown never ceases to amaze us, not just sonically but with the entirely immersive synchronized visual psychedelic experience that is his solo project Brainworlds. Such a treat to be able to invite him to perform and share this vibratory vision with Athens!! He lit up the after dark Forest Stage at work.shop at Echo Base with pulsating frequencies that go straight from his third eye to the audience’s. 🧠 👁️ mind melting 🫠- so grateful to have known and collaborated with Brainworlds on Ho**er Vision releases:

Jeff Astin and Brian Kinkade brought the yin yang of electronics to the evening with their perfect balance of gritty cassette warbled samples and magnetic modular processing to achieve a concoction truly unique - equal parts scavenged and refined, syrupy and crystalline. Medicine for the scrappy diy souls, chopped and screwed sound collage like no other duo. A fantastic set framed perfectly by the Drones in the Garden sculptural lighting stage pieces. So grateful these two could be involved in the evenings’ shared vision of the Forest Stage:

M. Kovacevich’s set closing out the Forest Stage evening was truly the best set either of us have ever seen or heard from Matt. The clarity and precision, the textural variety, and the sourcing of sounds (including contact mic-ing balloons 🎈) was next level sound scaping. The performance was pretty perfect - again so grateful to know and have the chance to collaborate with Matt and hear his explorations evolve into a signature aesthetic that feels truly his own:

Forest Stage was phenomenal, bringing together a Ho**er Vision and Drones in the Garden experience! 🪴 Even better attended than we could’ve hoped, and everyone played outstanding sets too! 🐝 The Swannatopia installation from Nimbus/Halo Sound literally had the audience feeling the vibrations of the music 🎧 stay tuned for a post dedicated to each artist including a video excerpt! Mega thanks to work.shop at Echo Base for being our backup venue for Waggle Feast rainy weather plans. 🙏 and an even bigger thanks to the ultra-talented artists that made it possible: Lynn of Farewell Phoenix, Sophie of Sleep Number, Mason of Brainworlds, All 4 members of Cult of Riggonia, Lea and Jonathan of Lea Lea, Brian and Jeff of I, Conduit, and Matt of M. Kovacevich - we couldn’t have done it without you!! To Jittery Joes for providing free coffee ☕️ and to Swannatopia s Katrina and Madalyn for inviting us to participate in Waggle Fest in the first place, and beeeeeliveing in our vision 🔮
