The Classic Journal

The Classic Journal The Classic Journal publishes and promotes undergraduate writing and research from Writing-Intensive courses at the University of Georgia.

The Classic Journal promotes the extraordinary achievements in writing and research by undergraduate students at the University of Georgia. Our purpose as a journal is twofold. First, The Classic Journal is a cross-disciplinary publication, fostering a community of diverse writers throughout the arts, humanities, and sciences. Second, the journal aims to provide undergraduates with the chance to e

xperience the publishing process. This will benefit students by offering them a greater understanding of the academic publishing process. Through these roles, The Classic Journal provides an important platform for undergraduate student writing at UGA. We are a collaborative effort by faculty and graduate teaching assistants who are affiliated with the Franklin College Writing Intensive Program. Founded in Fall 2015, the journal now accepts submissions from UGA students enrolled in writing-intensive and upper-division courses across the disciplines (i.e., WIP courses, W-suffix courses, courses with a major writing component, etc.) and publishes two–three issues per year.
