At the meeting, students walked around CCHS to practice taking photos in different spaces with a variety of cameras. “We got to try out using different cameras, like film cameras, which I liked because they feel more authentic to me,” CCHS senior Peter Atchley said. “When we went outside, the fog was super dense which added a cool effect to all of our photos.“ Photos by Anna Flath and iliad Club members, story by Scarlett Alston

Sleppy, a first time attendee of the convention, felt inspired by the sessions she attended and found new ideas she wanted to bring back the iliad Editorial Board. “It was an awesome experience due to the fact that it was my first journalism conference, but it also gave me the realization that I’m a part of a really special and rare program,” Sleppy said. “We’re set to a high standard, but I truly think that’s why we continue to excel and reminding myself to trust the process will allow me to gain some very useful tools in and out of the iliad.” Photos by Grady Dunston and Peter Atchley, story by Scarlett Alston
