🌳💦 Another cool down spot with shallow water for some splash play (because today's high is 98 🥵). Ben Burton Park is located off of Michell Bridge Road and offers free water access to the Middle Oconee River. Just beyond the parking lot and over the bridge, you'll find some gentle shoals, shallow water, a sand bar, and lots of SHADE. My son had the best time trying to catch fish and tadpoles. 🐟

Be sure to bring shoes with some tread on the bottom -- some rocks are slick! ⚠️

I didn't take time to explore much beyond the front of the park, but I did find a covered pavilion area with tables and a boat ramp that leads to deeper, open water. The directory sign shows there's hiking/walking trails, too!

There's also public restrooms available beside the parking lot.

This park is pet friendly! 🐾

Stopped by to try a taste of the new menu at Los Sabores de Casa and get to know them along with the other new businesses located within The Village at Malcom Bridge Shopping Center! If you're a fan of Latin American food, you'll enjoy this sampling! The empinadas were GOOD!

There's raffles and bubbles for kids from the lovely ladies at Oconee Tan + Wellness, brochures and sign-up discounts from Hot Workx, and free samples (and air conditioning!) inside Smallcakes Athens. 🍨But, we skipped the samples and indulged in a Smash Cake!
