We’re bringing ONA24 back to Athens! Hear what your peers have learned from this innovative journalism conference at our recap event on Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 5:30-7 p.m. in the J-Lab. If you’re interested in discussing what’s next for our industry — like using AI, tackling diversity, battling misinformation, etc. — you won’t want to miss this event! See you there with snacks. 🤩

The first event of the semester is upon us!!! We are hosting an ONA24 survival guide workshop to help you know what to expect and how to navigate the conference so that you’re getting the best experience possible. Any are welcome to come to this event, even if you’re not going to ONA24 this year, but attendance is required for those with free ONA24 registration. See you in the J-Lab on Monday, Sept. 9 from 4-5 p.m.! 🌟

JOIN US!!! We are funding 20 journalism students to the ONA24 conference in ATL from Sept. 18-21, 2024, with FREE registration. Although you will be in charge of your own lodging, transportation and food, this FREE registration covers a weekend of amazing workshops and networking. Join us this Monday, Oct. 24 for our next event! Sabriya Rice, former Knight Chair in Health and Medical Journalism, will be speaking about health journalism, with a focus on disparities and marginalized communities. Location TBD.

Mark your calendars! Next Wednesday, we are having a joint event with DiGamma Kappa. Mariya Murrow will be joining us from Atlanta News First, where she works as a digital multimedia journalist. Murrow also hosts a daily podcast called “The Feed”, and has experience working as a digital producer at KHON2 in Honolulu.
