We’re excited to welcome Kimberly Wilkins, owner of Front Porch Structures, as a new advertising partner with Greater Athens Magazine and the Athens Review.

What makes Kimberly’s business stand out is the level of control she gives her customers. Whether they’re looking for a shed, storage building, carport, tiny home, barndominium, or custom backyard learning space for homeschool use, Kimberly helps design it around their own needs, space, and specifications.

In many ways, the customer gets to be the architect — and Front Porch Structures helps bring that vision to life.

She is also genuinely a wonderful person to work with, which makes it even easier to be excited about helping her grow her local reach.

Kimberly is utilizing the full strength of the Athens Review’s 125 years of advertising wisdom and experience here in East Texas, combining trusted local print with modern digital visibility to help more customers find Front Porch Structures.

Welcome, Kimberly — we’re excited to have Front Porch Structures in Greater Athens Magazine.

Bear Nation is written, designed and produced by the Brownsboro High School Media Department. The magazine itself is student-created; advertising support through local business placement is what makes the printing and delivery of this community keepsake to 5,000 homes across Brownsboro, Chandler and Murchison possible.

To keep your business visible in your community while supporting your local ISD, contact: Lauren Roerick, Advertising Director at the Athens Review, at 903-343-9339 (cell), 903-675-5626 (office), or [email protected].

A 13-year-old in Texas is fighting cancer, and his family didn’t get any time to prepare for it.

Diago Alvear was just being a kid in Laredo.

Football. Band at George Washington Middle School.

And if you asked around… some pretty unforgettable red velvet brownies.

Then December hit.

A diagnosis no family sees coming: chondroblastic osteosarcoma.

It’s rare. Aggressive. Life-changing overnight.

Diago tries to stay strong. It’s harder for mom.

Even with insurance… the reality sets in fast.

Travel. Medications. Time away from work.

The kind of pressure that builds and hits a family hard.

But when it’s your child, you keep showing up.
Winning is the only option.

If you’ve been through something like this…
what can you share to keep them in the fight?

And if you haven’t… what would you want a 13-year-old like Diago to hear right now?

Let’s lift him up.
Prayers. Encouragement. Y’all know what to do 🙏

What matters to you? Your neighbors? How about celebrating the achievements of those we love. How long will a time capsule of that memory stay relevant?
