I am a huge fan of just about every I can get my hands on. Here are four that were recently released around Atlanta:

🍺EVIL EYE'S BEACHSIDE BREAKFAST | Variant Brewing Company x Dewey Beer Company | 5% Fruited Gose

Variant does everything wonderfully, and their fruited sour game is on top of the state of Georgia. Dewey has been named one of the best brewpubs in the country. This is a match made in strawberry, blueberry, and raspberry (with hints of waffle, maple, vanilla) heaven. -- Untappd 4.03

🍺LAZY OWL | Horned Owl Brewing x Lazy Guy Distillery | 9.8% Barrel-Aged Bock

Look at the Kennesaw connection these two made. Horned Owl took one of their bocks and let it rest in a Lazy Guy barrel bringing out all sorts of flavors like vanilla, cinnamon, caramel, oak, and dark fruit. -- Untappd 4.33

🍺RIVER RAMBLER | RockSolid Brewing Co. x SweetWater Brewing Company | 5.3% West Coast Pilsner

This was Rock Solid's first beer of 2025, and what a doozy of a collab with Sweetwater. They dry hopped this pilsner with loads of Columbus, Chinook and Simcoe hops to get it super floral with notes of unripe pineapple and an underlying dankness.

🍺HIDDEN PROVIDENCE | Sceptre Brewing Arts x Chamblee Tap & Market | Dunkel

Not only did Sceptre Brewing Arts collab with Chamblee Tap and Market on this crushable brown lager with smooth notes of toffee and caramel, they used light and dark Munich malts from , which is always a winning move.

Eight new beers hitting BREWERY taprooms this week or weekend.

🍺CHE SI DICE | Halfway Crooks Beer | Atlanta | 5% Italian Pilsner

Che Si Dice is a beer collab with in Brooklyn. You'll get flavor notes of cedar, tangerine, gentle black pepper, and lemon zest, with aromas of elderflower, honeysuckle, tangerine zest, and pear skin. -- Untappd 4.03

🍺CASA FANTASMAS | Indio Brewing | Sugar Hill | 7% Hazy IPA

Casa Fantasmas is a taproom-only hazy IPA made with 100% Citra hops.

🍺MARDI MCFLY | StillFire Brewing | Suwanee | 7.9% Dark Ale

Mardi McFly is a Mardi Gras King Cake-inspired ale that will have you feeling cinnamon, vanilla, and dark fruit wrapped in a rich malt base.

🍺LAYERZ | Two Tides Brewing Company | Savannah | 7% Fruited Sour

Layerz - Banana, Tangerine & Passion Fruit is a parfait sour from Two Tides' Layerz series with passionfruit, banana and tangerine with the Layerz treatment of coconut, honey granola, and vanilla fro-yo.

🍺DANDAN IPA | Three Taverns Brewery | Decatur + Atlanta + Ponce City Market (soon!!!) | 7.1% IPA

DanDan IPA was inspired by a hop selection trip to Yakima. It's a West Coast IPA with whole cone Mosaic and Simcoe hops. On their trip to the Pacific Northwest they stopped in a bar named DanDan, and the inspiration hit. Expect a bright, piney punch, bursting hop aroma, and a crisp, dry finish.

🍺QUADZILLA | Horned Owl Brewing | Kennesaw | 10.5% Belgian Quad

Quadzilla is an interpretation of Belgian quads made in Trappist and Abbey Breweries. It's strong, dark, and rich in malt character, and highly complex and high in alcohol. It features notes of dark plum, caramel, toffee, and spices.

🍺WAKE UP COFFEE AMBER | Silver Bluff Brewing Company | Brunswick | 7.7% Belgian Dubbel

Wake Up Coffee Amber is a Belgian-style dubbel brewed with a special blend of Ethiopian coffee beans from on Saint Simons Island. This amber ale has notes of strawberry and fig with a smooth, malty sweet finish.

🍺JALAPENO SUNNY DAY SIESTA | Drowned Valley Brewing Company | Cartersville | 4.2% Mexican Lager

Drowned Valley took their Sunny Day Siesta Mexican Lager base and added 15 pounds of fresh jalapeños (with the seeds) to earn that pepper aroma and flavor.

Just sharing a few beers that have been released in Georgia in the past few days to a week or so. Check with the brewery about taproom (or distro) availability before heading over.

🍺SHARP END | Contrast Artisan Ales | 7.4% Hazy IPA

The Contrast folks are pushing hazies to new places as Sharp End features Lotus and a brand new hop varietal called Alora, which combined give expressive notes of pineapple, papaya, and peach.

🍺A NIGHT IN BRUSSELS | Three Taverns Brewery | 7.9% Belgian IPA

I was today years old when I learned Three Taverns' launched in 2013 with this beer as a flagship, and later developed A Night OnPonce. It returned to both taprooms this week for a limited time.

🍺BIG CASINO | Variant Brewing Company x Two Tides Brewing Company | 5% Gose

One of the best goses around is from Variant (all hail their Raspberry Lemon Gose), and no one does sours like Two Tides in Savannah. Makes perfect sense for these two to collab on a fruited sour with ube, mango, toasted coconut, and granola. I had to look it up, so let me save you some time... a purple ube is a yam that often has "sweet and nutty flavors with hints of vanilla."

🍺RIPPLE | Two Tides Brewing Company | 7% Hazy IPA

You already know I'm a fan of Two Tides' sours, and their hazy game is fire, too. This one features Galaxy, Motueka, and Citra hops and utilizes oats in the grain bill. You're gonna get citrus and passionfruit here.

It's always stout season, and even if that weren't true, January is definitely stout season. That said, and with apologies, here are four very hop-inspired beers to be on the lookout for this weekend and into next week.

SIMULATED REALITY | Variant Brewing Company x Inner Voice collab | 8.5% Hazy IPA

When Variant and Inner Voice get together to make beer, good things happen. This juice bomb is just another example. Expect tropical, expect citrus from this beer that was "designed to deliver an intense and multi-layered hop experience." Hops: Phantasm, Citra, Citra Incognito, Motueka, Idaho 7 Cryo

HELIX | Inner Voice Brewing | 6% Hazy IPA

Helix is a fan favorite. It's tropical, soft, and fluffy thanks to additions of both wheat and oats to go along with a dry hop addition. Hops: Citra, Nelson Sauvin

LOW TURBULENCE | Round Trip Brewing | 1.8% West Coast Pilsner

West Coast pilsners are to new rave right now. I'm enjoying the heck out of them right now, so that alone caught my eye. Add in the fact this is 1.8% ABV and it's a must-try for me. "It delivers bright citrus and tropical fruit aromas with a whisper of white wine notes and a clean, dry finish." Hops: Nelson Sauvin

GLOBAL WARMING | Local Ties Brewing Company | 7% Cold IPA

Continuing the Kiwi theme, Global Warming is made with only hops from New Zealand. You'll get "tons of berries, grapes, and a slight earthy spice to the palate." Hops: Pacific Jade, Motueka, Nelson Sauvin

Sometimes you walk into a place and every beer hits just right. I stopped at Barleygarden Kitchen & Craft Bar Avalon today and there 13 IPAs on tap, and some really good ones at that. I had three:

Variant does a lot of things superbly, almost everything actually. I'm a huge fan of their hazy pale ales. I loved Cloud Forager, for sure. Load Bearing Friend also comes to mind. Looking forward to checking Dream Dagger out.

Happy Labor Day to us all. Year Of The Cobra is a 13% Double Milk Stout aged in a Buffalo Trace barrel for 13 months and then conditioned on vanilla beans, cocoa nibs, and coffee. It has a 4.51 UnTappd score.

Just a PSA... Two Birds Taphouse has 23 Georgia beers on tap. Everyone defines local a bit differently, but for today's purposes, beers from the Peach State are our playground.

As you can see, data was pulled from Untappd (as of August 26). Check with Two Birds to make sure any particular beer is still on tap.

Congrats to Sceptre Brewing Arts on 5 years!

These beer collabs look fantastic: Variant, Elsewhere, Pearl & Pine, Indio, and Symbiotiq Beer Project (I don't know anything about Symbiotiq, but I am intrigued.

Reset is awesome. I had Velo at the brewery… incredible. 10˚P Černé Pivo … wow.
