Sixty-three years ago today, Dr. King stood before 250,000 people at the Lincoln Memorial and declared, “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.’” Is this “one day” King dreamt of more than six decades ago any closer now than it was then? Or does the fact that the dream still exists and inspires suffice?
