We took a scenic 2-hour drive from Taos to Santa Fe, and honestly… the desert views already set the tone 🌵✨
We checked into .nm , right in the heart of the city, where the architecture itself feels like a history lesson.
First stop: downtown Santa Fe, which is truly a food lover’s paradise.
If you’re craving dumplings, is a MUST. Cozy spot, bold flavors, and easily some of the best dumplings I’ve had — comfort food done right 🥟🤍
This place is not just a museum — it’s an interactive art universe. Perfect with kids and adults alike. Think:
* Hidden doors everywhere 🚪
* Secret passageways
* Glowing rooms
* A surreal storyline you discover as you explore
It feels like stepping inside a dream — playful, mind-blowing, and unforgettable. A non-negotiable Santa Fe experience.
⚠️ Pro tip: admire the stalls, but save your wallet for authentic stores. Buy real turquoise jewelry — it’s believed to be a stone of protection and good luck, and Santa Fe is the place to get the real deal 💍💙
the oldest café in Santa Fe, famous for its chili chocolate.
Warning: it will burn your tongue 🌶️🍫
But somehow… you’ll want another sip. Painfully addictive in the best way.
As the day slowed down, we headed to see the most spectacular sunset at the Cross of the Martyrs.
The sky turned deep red, the city glowed, and for a moment it felt like the whole world was painted in fire 🌅🔥
Pure magic.

We already know we have to come back… if only to fall into another food coma 🤍🌮
Underrated? Yes.
Unforgettable? 100%.

We flew from Atlanta to Albuquerque (just 3.5 hrs!), rented a car, and because life gets easier as kids grow, we brought our own booster seats this time. When they were under 4 we used to rent from Avis, but parents… you know the struggle — this felt like a win already. 😂
🌄 Day 1: ALQ -> Taos (2. 5 hours drive)
First stop: - it looked a tiny bit shady from the outside but ended up being the BEST Mexican food with the most addictive salsa. A must-try, trust me.
From there, we drove to Taos and checked into the incredible .taos. The architecture, the mountain views, and especially the China Suite instantly made it one of the most authentic stays we’ve ever had. We even woke up to fresh snowfall, which made our morning magical. The kids basically lived in the heated indoor pool and sauna, and while their breakfast was delicious, nothing beat our cozy Doordash pizza nights with drinks after the kids knocked out. 😅
🏺 Day 2:
We started our day at Taos Pueblo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and honestly—it felt like stepping straight into a history book. The culture, the stories, the Native community preserving their heritage… such a powerful experience.
For lunch, we stopped at which absolutely lived up to the hype. Then we wandered through local art galleries around town, discovering beautiful handmade pieces.
Next, we took a scenic drive up to Taos Ski Valley. Definitely planning a ski trip here in the future!
💎 Day 3:
The morning was all about hunting for the famous New Mexico turquoise, and please—add this to your itinerary. I walked out with enough rings to make Salman Khan proud. 😂 The craftsmanship and colors are unreal.
Before heading toward Santa Fe, we made one last iconic stop at the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. Standing over that deep, dramatic gorge and taking the mile-long walk felt surreal — one of those places you see once and never forget.
We wrapped up with lunch at LaCueva Café, where the rellenos (stuffed peppers) officially became my new obsession.
