How do you get studio sound without going to a studio?

You record in a small, carpeted room with no windows, or as close to that as you can get.

And you fill it with furniture, books, plants, and art. The cozier the better!

These things absorb sound and will improve your recording.

What is the #1 podcasting advice to get better sound?

Make sure that you are using a dynamic microphone!

You don’t have to spend all your money on expensive equipment. But, you should start with a mic.

Dynamic mics will capture your voice, instead of all the background noise you’re trying to get rid of. But you’ll still want to record in a small, carpeted room, with no windows, so there isn’t much background noise anyway.
