I’ve spent the past few years working on a film that demanded more of me than I anticipated, yet it became one of the most meaningful creative journeys of my life.
A REPORT FROM THE PLACE WHERE NOTHING HAPPENS, coming to PBS in 2026, is a documentary thriller that shows how legal systems erase people by rewriting their lives in increasingly fictional terms. The banality of this invisible choreography is the heart of the film.
I’m grateful to everyone who stood with me through this long process.
I look forward to sharing the work with audiences in the U.S., Europe, and beyond.

The Rule of Law: Stability or Illusion?

In 2020, Adam Bodnar diagnosed Poland’s justice system with surgical precision. As Commissioner for Human Rights (2015–2021), he named the pathologies: institutional schizophrenia, systemic impunity, collective destabilization, and a judiciary disconnected from the people and mistrusted across Europe and beyond.

Since December 2023, Bodnar holds the most powerful legal position in Poland: Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General.

The patient is sicker than ever. Chaos. Humiliation. Ritual violations of rights.

Thriller o tym, jak prawda znika z sądu. To zjawisko wydaje się sprzeczne ze zdrowym rozsądkiem, ponieważ prawda, z definicji, jest głównym narzędziem wymierzania sprawiedliwości, a nie jej produktem ubocznym. W końcu co miałoby mocniej zakotwiczać naszą zbiorową rzeczywistość w prawdzie niż sądy? Jakiekolwiek odstępstwo od tej normy wydaje się nielogiczne, dziwne, kłopotliwe i dość egzotyczne. Od tego zakłopotania zaczyna się ta historia. Reszta jest zagadką, pełną intryg, zwrotów akcji, i rzadkiej, nieco anachronicznej, grozy.
