One thing about us is we don’t get a ton of free time, but when we do, we try to make it count. Tennis is always a go-to if it's not pickleball, and let’s just say… it’s been a mix of laughs, competitiveness, and pretending we actually know what we’re doing. Chan gets into it like it’s Wimbledon, while Jamal is more about making jokes between serves. Somehow that balance makes it fun instead of stressful, and it’s quickly becoming one of our favorite ways to spend time together.

It reminded us that you don’t have to be a pro at something to enjoy it with your partner. It’s about finding activities that get you moving, keep you laughing, and give you space to bond outside the usual routine. Whether we’re running after a tennis ball or just sitting on the court catching our breath, it feels like time well spent.

Little things like this remind us that love is just as much about play as it is about the serious stuff. And honestly, I think that’s why we work so well together.

Date nights look a little different deep into a relationship. It’s not always about getting dressed up and going somewhere fancy, it’s about carving out time for each other in the middle of life’s noise. The truth is, after years together, we know each other’s quirks, habits, and moods, and that makes even the simplest nights feel meaningful.
Sometimes it’s dinner at that spot we always go back to, other times it’s just a late-night drive with music playing low and us talking about everything and nothing. What matters isn’t where we go, but how we’re still intentional about dating each other. It’s easy to get comfortable and let routine take over, but when we pause to really see each other, to laugh and reconnect, it keeps that spark alive.

Because love doesn’t just grow by itself...it’s watered in these small, intentional moments. And even after all this time, I still look forward to dating the same person I married.
