🇺🇸The Paris suburbs still influence the world 🌍⚽️
Tomorrow, France v Spain in the semi-final.
54 players at this World Cup were trained in the Paris region, spread across 11 different national teams. One region, eleven flags.
The Paris banlieue doesn’t build one team. It feeds a dozen.
It starts on concrete, a half-flat ball, games that run until dark. Behind the pride, there’s a history: a colonial past, sheer demographics, and a social ladder that only lifts a lucky few.
Back in 2020, this reporting by Florian Dacheux told the story of the garden where the world’s football stars grow.
