The hospice nurse may have told you time is short now. Maybe your loved one has been sleeping a lot and all of the sudden they are wide awake and sitting up and asking for food. Is this normal? Is it over? Now maybe they won’t die?

Having a last burst of energy is actually very common and it’s good to know that so that you can best make use of your time with your loved one. Unfortunately, it often does NOT mean they are going to 100% and not pass away.

How do you choose the best room for your senior? By listening to input from the staff! They know things you may not consider - including that distance can help your loved one stay active!

Don’t listen to people who say there are no good places for seniors. I agree that it’s very hard to find a good nursing home, but there are good assisted living and personal care homes.
