Yaw Dabo has gone viral after refusing to give his own nephew special treatment during the Dabo Soccer Academy's ‘Justify’ scouting session in Kumasi.

The trials took place on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the Atonsu AstroTurf, where young footballers were put through a series of assessments to earn a place in the academy.

A video from the event captured Yaw Dabo speaking directly to a woman he referred to as his mother, informing her that her grandson had not met the required standard and would not be selected.

He made no exceptions and offered no special consideration based on the family connection.

"The academy is built on merit, not bl00dlines," Dabo made clear during the exchange.
