Juneteenth marks a powerful moment in American history. On June 19, 1865 - more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed - enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, finally learned they were free. It marks the official end of slavery in the United States.

As we reflect on this day, may we remember and continue to work toward a future rooted in truth, justice, and equity.
