Rapper Game is undeniably talented—but he just released a mixtape, and that should be the focus. We’re living in an era where if the numbers aren’t moving, the quick fix is to take shots at whoever’s on top. Game is a phenomenal lyricist, and nothing I’m saying takes away from his skill set, but passing the torch to Kendrick Lamar, then trying to sn**ch it back while sneak-dissing at every opportunity, isn’t the move.

Kendrick is too smart to take the bait. He understands timing, optics, and the long game. I want to hear Game’s bars—he has plenty of them. But let the accolades come from your own body of work, not by borrowing attention from someone else’s spotlight.

Greatness doesn’t need a co-sign.
It stands on its own.

André 3000 gave an unscripted, but powerful speech for OuKast's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction.

Surrounded by the Dungeon Family who also took the stage, André explained why the induction meant to much to him: "The reason why it’s important is because a lot of times when when bands or individuals get up here, it’s about the musicians and we talk about the music a lot—but a lot of times it is a lot more than just the notes or the instruments that you playing. It’s everybody that’s around you. It’s the family—and this is my family."

He finished off the speech by calling back to words spoken by his friend and collaborator Jack White earlier in the night: "Jack is, man, he’s one of my favorites — we love you, man. But one thing that he said, he said something about little rooms. And we started in a little room. Great things start in little rooms.
