We have just released the latest module for Combat Command - Minsk to Moscow covering army lists on the Eastern Front from June 22, 1941 till December 30, 1941. It includes the Axis minor powers (Finland, Romania and Hungary). Difficult to balance given the wide variety of odd armored vehicles but we did our best. Looking forward to running lots of early war battles. Available from WargameVault.

As many of you know we have been involved in updating the classic DBA system for large scale fantasy battles at the request of WRG. This has involved completely rewriting the rules for clarity and improving the diagrams. We have also added many fantasy features and rules to recreate the Hundred Years War and War of the Roses period as these periods are often used as inspiration for modern fantasy novels. The resulting game is De Bellis Fantasiae which we highly recommend tot both fantasy and historical players. It is available through Lulu and other outlets.

Pictures from out Coriano Ridge game which was intended for Historicon but last minute work load prevented attending. Original battle was fought on September 4 '44. We ran it instead in Atlanta last weekend. It may reappear at NashCon this year. Historicon theme was Italy so we did the attack of the 1st Canadian Infantry Brigade against elements of the German Turkistan Division supported by some formally Italian Semoventas. Terrain had lots of impassible rivers so the Canadians supported the attack with bridge laying Churchill Funnies. A great Combat Command game.

FAME & GLORY AT HISTORICON

We ran two games at the recent Historicon gaming convention. Our first game was a large Eastern Front game set during the Seelowe Heights campaign using Combat Command. The second used our experimental multi-player campaign system for A Game of Knights & Knaves in which players had to start with just three troop Stands and then use diplomacy, sieges, recruiting and of course battles to Conquer a Kingdom. Both games were filled with enthusiastic players. Great thanks to our players and the organizers of Historicon.

Despite lingering pandemic we have continued to test the Battalion Battle system for both balance and whether in can create dynamic and interesting games. This weekend we went back to the Saint Lo to the Siegfried line module as its getting some updates. On each side one player selected a Leg Battlegroup while the other selected either an Armored (for the US) or a Panzer Grenadier battlegroup for the Germans.

The result was a good battle that went down to the final turn and produced a narrow 5-4 German win.

Big thanks to the playtest team. We hope to update this module by the end of the year.

Till then all feedback welcome.
