Few cities hold the legacy and cultural influence in music like
Detroit, and today, a select few voices continue to carry that
legacy forward. One of those voices belongs to singer/
songwriter Terry Dexter, who makes a powerful return to the
R&B/soul scene with her brand-new single and EP, Believer.
After a long hiatus, Dexter reunites with her roots alongside
fellow Detroiter, acclaimed multi-instrumentalist and respected
producer Duke Williams. Together, they launch their debut
release under their newly formed label, Daytwah Sound.
The lead single, Believer, is a soul-wrenching R&B anthem,
infused with Williams' gospel-inspired keys and signature
classic soul textures. It takes listeners on an emotionally
charged, musically fearless journey. At its heart are Dexter’s
raw, commanding vocals, telling a poignant story of redemption,
liberation, and inner strength—found in the one place that
matters most.
With this release, Dexter and Williams honor the rich musical
heritage of Detroit while delivering a fresh, powerful sound that
speaks to the spirit, heart and soul.
