✍️ Protecting the First Amendment Is Everyone’s Responsibility
The First Amendment isn’t just words on paper—it’s the cornerstone of freedom in America. It safeguards our right to speak, to assemble, to worship, to publish, and to petition for change.
But here’s the truth: rights not actively defended eventually erode. Silence today could mean restrictions tomorrow—with your name on them.
🔔 As Benjamin Franklin warned:
> “Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.”
Martin Niemöller’s famous reminder echoes through history:
> “First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist... Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”
And Edmund Burke made it clear:
> “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
