My life is pretty good overall – I own a gym, I have friends, I have a family. And even with all that, my lack of self-confidence is killing me. It's all because of my main problem – I stutter.

My friend kept telling me that despite my speech impediment, I'm beautiful just the way I am. So she set me up on a blind date with an old friend of hers. Tired of her pestering, I agreed. God, if only I’d known what a disaster it would turn into.

So, the big night. I'm already at the café. Finally, he shows up – a very, I mean VERY HANDSOME guy. I became even more nervous. The conversation was just awful!

“I'm a self-employed trainer. I have a Porsche, naturally. Last month, I was in Bali, soaking up the sun. It's tough living so good, ya know?” He laughed.

My anxiety increased, my hands started to tremble. I tried to talk about myself, but the words tangled together.

"I... I... o-opened a g-g-gym," my stuttering betraying my nerves.

"Well... cute. Honestly, I was expecting someone, you know... more put together," he chuckled.

"I-I am c-confident," I tried to insist, but my voice betrayed me.

"Look, bunny, this isn't what I signed up for. Good luck with your gym or whatever." Ashton shrugged and left me there alone.

I moved into the abandoned house as soon as I received the keys. It was better than I imagined it. You see, my dad had bought it for a decent price, but after marrying, they moved into the big mansion.

It still stung: my parents didn't think I was good enough to get it — my sister Hazel was. Am I not good enough to receive a fair split of this? Anyway, it didn't matter anymore...

It would take thousands of dollars worth of repairs to make the place livable again! So, I decided to learn how to do it myself. I mean, how hard could it be?

It was harder than ANYTHING! 2 weeks later, I only finished the kitchen. I walked around, seeing how much work was left. The bedrooms needed new paint certainly. And the floor. Wait a minute...

It was the first time I saw that strange protrusion in the corner. So, I bent down and touched it. Surprisingly, my hand went through the floor. "Yuck! It's rotten!" I said out loud. But then I realized there was a strange hollowness.

I got my phone. With its flashlight, I took a better look and saw… stairs leading into the darkness. What is that?!

I destroyed all the crumbling parts of the floor with a hammer and started going down the stairs.
From what I could tell, it was just a regular room, only with this "beautiful" smell of mold and rot.

Except… there was a desk in the middle, littered with papers and an old-fashioned typewriter. Spooky, but… interesting.

I was always close with my mom, so we both dreamed about my wedding. We chose our outfits, had fun choosing the cake, and almost cried when we chose the song for the Father-Daughter Dance.

I have a wonderful 7-year-old daughter and two 4-year-old twin boys. Every time my MIL reaches out to spend time with the kids, she always asks to "see the boys" or for me to "bring the boys over." Before they were born, she had no problems with my daughter, but as time went by, it seemed like she started avoiding her.

MY HUSBAND JOKED IN FRONT OF HIS GUESTS THAT I WAS ON HIS MAINTENANCE AND HE'D KICK ME OUT IF I WASN'T OBEDIENT – HE LAUGHED ONLY FOR THE FIRST FEW MINUTES UNTIL MY EPIC REVENGE.
