Move With Intention, Not Urgency

In a world that rewards speed, it is easy to confuse motion with progress. Moving quickly can feel productive, but without intention, it often leads to exhaustion rather than fulfillment. True growth is not rushed; it is deliberate, thoughtful, and anchored in clarity.

When actions are guided by purpose, they tend to endure. Intentional movement allows space for reflection, learning, and appreciation along the way. What is built carefully is more likely to last.

Pause today and ask: What would it look like to move with intention instead of urgency?

🏆 Congratulations to Kristina G. Douglass, archaeologist and Associate Professor of Climate at Columbia Climate School, who has been named a 2025 MacArthur Fellow.

The "genius grant" from MacArthur Foundation recognizes exceptional creativity and dedication, celebrating creative potential through a no-strings-attached $800,000 fellowship.

Douglass investigates how human societies and environments have co-evolved and adapted to climate variability over time. Her research, based in southwest Madagascar, uses lessons from the past to understand how to adapt to climate change, working in close, longstanding collaborations with local and Indigenous communities.

Billionaire MacKenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Jeff Bezos, awarded the United Negro College Fund with a "transformational" $70 million gift toward strengthening historically Black colleges and universities, the organization announced.

This gift follows Scott's $10 million contribution in 2020, which helped bolster the UNCF emergency reserve fund, according to the release from the organization. https://abc7.com/17872991/

Not every wrong turn or dead end is failure—it could be feedback.

In careers and in life, detours often reveal lessons we wouldn’t have learned otherwise.

Each misstep sharpens our clarity, strengthens our resilience, and pushes us closer to our true purpose.

So don’t discount the past—it’s preparing you for the future you’re building.
