🏆 Congratulations to Kristina G. Douglass, archaeologist and Associate Professor of Climate at Columbia Climate School, who has been named a 2025 MacArthur Fellow.
The "genius grant" from MacArthur Foundation recognizes exceptional creativity and dedication, celebrating creative potential through a no-strings-attached $800,000 fellowship.
Douglass investigates how human societies and environments have co-evolved and adapted to climate variability over time. Her research, based in southwest Madagascar, uses lessons from the past to understand how to adapt to climate change, working in close, longstanding collaborations with local and Indigenous communities.
