Let’s also talk about power for a second…because I think a lot of Black creators are underestimating it. The Black community has over a trillion dollars in spending power, and that influence travels far beyond our own spaces, so brands are not doing us a favor with a free trip or an invite…they’re making a strategic investment. They need access to our audience, our culture, and our influence just as much as creators want opportunities. That’s why this rush to defend a corporation feels off to me…because it reads like we think access can be taken away at any moment, when in reality our value is the reason we’re in the room in the first place. You can disagree with someone’s experience without positioning yourself as the brand’s defense team…especially when the real leverage has always been with us.

Let’s talk about it.

Some of y’all are walking around in designer…latest drops…fresh fits…looking like money. But if something happened to you tomorrow…your family would be left figuring it out on their own.

And that’s the part nobody wants to say out loud.

Life insurance isn’t about being “old” or “paranoid”…it’s about responsibility. It’s about making sure your people aren’t stuck with funeral costs, debt, or starting from zero because you didn’t plan ahead.

We’ve normalized looking rich…but not being protected.

Real wealth isn’t just what you wear…it’s what you leave behind.

I used to complain about never getting approached in public… people always say I look mean or unapproachable, but really I just be in my own world. So when I was out walking my dog and someone actually came up to me and asked for my number, I was lowkey shocked… I gave it to him thinking okay he’s a confident man. Not even 10 minutes later I read the text he sent me and I was GAGGED. be careful what you ask for 😭
