Some* husbands do not like their wives. This isn’t a new thing, it’s an unspoken thing.
Love is an amazing thing to experience. But the small gestures, the attention to detail, the intentional effort… that’s like not love. Providing, protecting and securing is love. Both are beautiful but one seeks to offer a deeper connection than just the default portion of a relationship.
My husband has loved me since we were 15 years old but he hasn’t always liked me. Truth be told, I wasn’t likable because I didn’t give him a reason or space to like me. I was bitter, angry and miserable 90% of the time. Any time he tried to act on the details, I told him he was doing too much. Any time we would initiate affection, I told him he only cared about s*x. To be liked is also a form of submission. You’ve gotta LET HIM actually show you that he likes you.
It took me years to become likable by my husband but when it finally clicked, our marriage changed. Having someone care about the details of you, the little quirks that make up who you are, the way you like your coffee, your favorite comfort show… this makes doing life together meaningful rather than a duty to a title and role. Plus I love a man that loves his woman down to her toes 🥹 and I love seeing woman soften up to love her man because she is properly being loved. That combo is ELITE!
