If it wasn’t for our son, we wouldn’t be together. Our son is the reason Bae and I decided to get back together and really try at a relationship.

*BACK STORY: I had reconnected with an ex boyfriend and I broke things off with Bae to try getting back with my ex. Bae wasn’t having it so he asked if we could talk after my doctor’s appointment the next day.. welp… he came into that appointment and we found out that we were pregnant… 9 weeks pregnant. We literally left that appointment with a very quiet understanding that we were back together and my “dream” of getting back with my ex was dead and gone.

Our son forced us to stop playing with our relationship and actually be intentional about putting effort into this union. It was the best decision we ever made because what we’ve built over the years has been so amazing. Our son is so loving and so amazing and truly was the glue in the beginning of our marriage. To be able to experience my husband in a younger, cloned version of him is so special 🥹

Anyway, our biggest baby boy who is literal talks my height 🙄

In 13 days we said “I do” in a season when we barely knew who we were. What we did know is that as long as we were together, life would be better.

First of all… AI IS WILD 😳

I saw this video the other day and this stood out to me: “Choose a partner you want to co parent your inner child with” 🤯 THAT IS DEEP!

I feel like many marriages fail because we choose partners that our adult version likes but our inner child lacks safety with. When you were a child and an adult made you feel uncomfortable, most times we either avoided that adult or shut down/ limited interactions when that adult came around. Your marriage feels funny because your adult partner is someone you probably would’ve avoided as a child.

When I met Bae in high school I felt safe with him immediately. He felt like home, like a warm cup of hot tea on a chilly Fall night while sitting in front of a fire, wrapped in your favorite blanket. Home. Providing that safe space for each other was important because we carried so many wounds from our early ages. When we began to unpack and heal, we realized how similar our voids were growing up and that gave a stage for our adult selves to step in and be that nurture our inner child needed.

💡Moral: Marry someone your inner child feels safe with because that will be the person that helps heal those wounds to unlock your best adult self.

We may be older but the one thing that hasn’t aged is our love for being in the car 😅

We are long drive car people. When we were dating we used to sit in the car for hours either listening to music or arguing (typically arguing 🤣). Now we eat lunch or take long drives with our kids. We’re also a very active Tribe— we can’t stay sitting in the house too long, the girls start acting up 😅
