Qidere ‘LGP Qua’ Johnson, Philly rapper and youth activist, dies at 30.

Qidere “LGP Qua” Johnson, a rising hip-hop artist known for his viral freestyles and community activism, died Sunday at Temple University Hospital. He was 30.

According to Philadelphia Police Public Affairs Officer Tanya Little, Johnson was shot and killed Sunday in the Juniata Park section of Philadelphia, near M and East Luzerne streets. Officers responded to the scene and were informed that Johnson had already been transported to Temple University Hospital by private vehicle. Johnson, of the 1900 block of West Bristol Street, was pronounced dead just before 5 p.m.

He branded himself as the “Voice of the Youth,” using his platform to address issues like inner-city violence, systemic oppression, and youth empowerment. The moniker LGP, stands for “Let’s Get Paid,” and reflected his ambition to elevate others around him.

Cap & his Daughter started the Foundation De Manana, Inc.(a Non-Profit Organization) in 1994, which advocates to bring awareness to the dangers of Driving Drunk - after he was nearly killed by a drunk driver .
