Did you know Operation "Yentua" is one of the most controversial policies in the history of Ghana. It was a bold and defiant economic policy implemented by by Ghana’s military leader General I.K. Acheampong in the 1970s, that literally meant “We Won’t Pay” in Akan. Acheampong refused to repay Ghana’s mounting foreign debts, arguing that the loans had not benefited the people. The operation became a powerful nationalist statement against neocolonial economic pressures, symbolizing Ghana's demand for fairer global financial treatment.
