Around 10,000 employees will be let go by Facebook parent company Meta in the second large round of job layoffs the tech giant has announced in the last four months.

The most recent layoffs, which were revealed on Tuesday, follow Meta's announcement in November that it was shedding 11,000 employees, or about 13% of its staff, in the single largest round of layoffs in the history of the firm.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated in a Facebook post on Tuesday that the layoffs will occur "over the next few of months."

According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, an unintended shooting in Texas resulted in a 3-year-old girl shooting and killing her 4-year-old sister.

In essence, a 3-year-old and a 4-year-old are involved in this, Gonzalez added. "The 3-year-old is said to be the shooter. It seems to have happened by accident."

The sheriff described the situation as "tragic" but added that it was "extremely preventable." He said a group of family and friends, including two children and five adults, were hanging out in a Houston apartment on Sunday. The kids were once left unattended in a bedroom because one parent believed the other was keeping an eye on them, he claimed.
