“It is with a heavy heart that I have to say my partner from the McIntosh county sheriff’s office has passed away. I don’t even know where to begin. That girl knew she was loved by everyone except narcotic users/transporters. I can’t say enough about the work she done!! You will be missed 1253.5!! From the jeep rides, training, working, sleeping on a king size bed, tearing up the same bed you were just sleeping on, coming home and not being greeted by you will be rough.”

"Today, we gave you your last call and last ride, you were surrounded by people who loved you and honored you .

The out pouring from the community and surrounding communities for you were amazing your family K9’s came a long way to give you the send off that so much deserved. People held signs with your name on them there were ribbons on the streets with your picture put up. You dedicated your life to your community and made so made new friends and connections, you broke the barriers and laid the foundation for future generations to know the police and like them.

We all had tears and hugged each other for you today we mourned for you knowing there will never be another K9 Bas man.

On behalf of the Wyar family we thank each and ever one of you that showed your support today and throughout K9 Bas’s entire career, all of you showed today the true value and impact a k9 has for it’s community and surrounding communities.

"It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of retired O'Fallon Police K9 Griz, who passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, surrounded by Sgt. Misuraca and his loving family.

Griz dedicated his career to serving and protecting our community, forming unbreakable bonds with his handler, Sgt. Misuraca, and the officers who worked alongside him. After retiring in December 2022, Griz enjoyed two wonderful years of well-deserved rest and love with his family.

He was more than just a partner in service—he was a loyal friend, protector, and cherished member of the O'Fallon Police Department family. Griz's legacy of courage, loyalty, and love will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts are with Sgt. Misuraca, his family, and all who had the honor of knowing and working with K9 Griz.

Rest easy, Griz. 🐾💙"

💙Happy Retirement K-9 York 💙
"Let’s all take a moment to wish a happy retirement day to K-9 York! 🎉🥳
York and his handler, Kevin Frei, have served the city of Nashville as a K-9 team since 2019 and have assisted in numerous operations to apprehend felony suspects together. Additionally, K-9 York was a certified Explosive Detection K-9. He performed countless sweeps throughout Nashville’s many events, including CMA Fest, Titan’s Games, Predators, and many others. K-9 York and Officer Frei’s efforts helped ensure the safety of Nashville’s citizens and visitors.
York will be going to live at home with Officer Frei and his family where he will be spending the rest of his retirement relaxing with his favorite Kong toy!

Thank you K-9 York for your service to the city of Nashville!!!"

🚨K-9 Jocko was also shot in the line of duty this week

"Great news! Johnson County K9 Jocko has been released from the veterinary hospital after he was wounded during a shootout on Wednesday night. (Photo credit: Johnson County Sheriff's Office)

**Alexander James Russom, a well-known suspect with the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, fired shots at officers Wednesday night, injuring K-9 deputy Jocko. Russom was pronounced dead at a local hospital after being struck by an officer."

K-9 deputy Jocko was taken to an emergency vet."
