Tried compressing the caliper piston and it just kept spinning, then started leaking brake fluid everywhere. Now I can’t get the piston back in and I’m wondering if I ruined the caliper during what was supposed to be a simple brake job 😩🛠️

Went in for a routine oil change, and the shop told me I need new rotors and brake pads. The thing is, I replaced all four brakes last year and even upgraded to carbon-fiber pads and slotted rotors.

Does this look like they really need to be replaced already, or am I being upsold? What do you all think? 🛠️⚙️🚗🤔💬

Trying to remove the lower ball joint castle nut on my 2008 Honda Pilot and I can’t even tell where the nut ends and the knuckle begins anymore. 😭

So far it’s consumed PB Blaster, hammer swings, and most of my patience. At this point, I’m pretty sure the rust has permanently merged everything into one piece.

Trying to torque the upper caliper bracket bolt, but my torque wrench won’t fit because everything around it is killing the clearance. 😭

A regular ratchet slips in just fine, but I can’t get the torque wrench seated properly on the bolt with all the surrounding components in the way. I’m trying to do this the right way instead of relying on the classic “good-n-tight” calibration. 💀

What’s the best move here — use a crowfoot adapter, get creative with sockets and extensions, or temporarily remove something to gain access?
