For the second consecutive year, Morehouse College has earned the SIAC Men's Commissioner's Cup, recognizing the conference's top-performing men's athletics program. The honor follows a historic 2025–26 season in which the Maroon Tigers captured four SIAC championships in men's cross country, men's basketball, men's indoor track and field, and men's outdoor track and field. 🏆

The championship year was highlighted by Morehouse Basketball's first SIAC Tournament title since 2003, a fourth consecutive SIAC Cross Country Championship, and the program's first-ever SIAC "track triple crown" after sweeping the conference's cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track championships.

The Commissioner's Cup reflects excellence across an entire athletics department, recognizing sustained success, competitive achievement, and the commitment of student-athletes, coaches, and staff throughout the academic year. Morehouse secured the Cup with 48 points, cementing its place among the SIAC's premier athletic programs.

Congratulations to our Maroon Tigers on another historic season.

Spelman College made history with seven co-valedictorians in its Class of 2026.

The Atlanta HBCU named Nia-Sarai Perry, Aiyana Ringo, Alyssa Richardson, Cori’Anna White, Sophia Davis, Mariama Diallo, and Alexis Sims to the honor.

All seven students earned a perfect 4.0 GPA, and the group known as the Spelman Seven walked across the stage together at graduation. This marked a new school record for the most valedictorians in one class.

The young woman shared an emotional moment at graduation. "I love the fact that I don’t have to do this alone," Perry said. "I hate doing things alone. So of course I’m not valedictorian alone."

Davis said, "Especially in a time in which we as Black women are facing so much plight, we are our ancestors’ wildest dreams and that we’re making the difference and choice to change the world."
