One of the most exciting times for a marketer is the launch of a new product. Who doesn't want to bring innovative solutions to the market?!"

Today’s Team Takeover spotlight features Thom Gonyeau, our very own agency owner! He’s sharing some insider knowledge about what makes a memorable and effective product launch — one that goes beyond simple marketing initiatives.

“New Product Introductions (NPIs) are an exciting time for marketers as they bring innovative solutions to the market. This effort brings together all facets of market research, customer needs, strategy, and product development to really answer the question: What problem are we trying to solve? How can we create impact?

From a creative and marketing communications perspective, this provides the ‘blue sky thinking’ opportunities to not only make a splash that draws attention to your NPI but clearly articulates the vision and differentiation that this new solution brings to target customers. These efforts are holistic and coordinated across genres and media including traditional collateral, video, social, event management, digital communications, customer presentations, and sales enablement tools.”

Today we give thanks for the things that truly matter: our amazing team members, our fantastic clients, coffee that never runs out, and conference calls that actually end on time.

May your turkey be juicy, your Wi-Fi strong, and your relatives mercifully chill this year.

We’re grateful for all of you — thanks for helping us do what we do (and for pretending to laugh at our jokes).

Wishing you a happy and peaceful Thanksgiving! 🍁😄

Are you actually listening to your employees?

The strongest brands don’t only focus on marketing – they are grounded in the culture of their organization. Here are five simple steps to start a brand-shaping culture campaign:

- Listen: Ask employees how they describe the company in their own words.

- Reflect and synthesize: Look for the positive consistencies in those narratives and elevate them as ‘what we look like at our best.’ Then, find ways to address the gaps or negatives so they don’t undercut the culture story.

- Spotlight: Recognize someone living the culture in a way that reflects the brand.

- Create a playbook: Give people leaders shared language and behaviors to model.

- Enable peer-to-peer storytelling: Build a platform for employees to share their own stories of living the culture.

The strongest part of a product launch isn’t the product — it’s the face in front of it.

To develop unique content in overcrowded marketing spaces, it’s important to take consumers on a journey that goes beyond advertising.

Audiences gravitate towards humanity, and fostering thought leadership is a perfect opportunity to establish it.

Do you want to revolutionize your brand, propel your launches, and innovate market growth? Start leading with your people.

A successful corporate merger or acquisition is like building one structure from two LEGO sets.

Before any bricks are combined, it’s important to have a solid strategy that includes a deep understanding of each company's values, purposes, goals, and cultures.

Once the plan is in place, it’s time to start building:
🧩 Use structural pieces of industry knowledge and expertise to set a foundation.
🧩 Find the blocks where culture overlaps and scale with them.
🧩 Decorate with unique pieces of employee personality to let each person shine.
🧩 Most importantly, communicate with every builder (leadership, comms teams, employees) throughout the whole process to stay on the right path.

Follow these steps, and you’ll create a company structure that is strong, intricate, and long-lasting. Happy building!

Today’s 's Team Takeover spotlight features Vern Oakley, the founder/CEO of Tribe PicturesTribe and a member of Mountain View Group’s Board of Advisors!

He’s sharing some words of wisdom about how executive thought leadership impacts corporate reputation (and trust us, he knows his stuff. See his book for more proof).

“In my 40+ years working with CEOs, I’ve seen time and again that the tone is set at the top. People want to work for leaders they respect — and ideally admire. Trust is the foundation of all communication. In my best-selling book Leadership in Focus, I show how leaders can connect in meaningful ways with all stakeholders — because when executives share authentically, it builds credibility and strengthens a company’s reputation from the inside out.”

We agree with him — trust is key!

In an age of digital recruitment marketing, brand stories are the new job postings.

New employees look past job requirements to find the culture and the “feel” of the organization, and that culture lies in company media assets and narratives.

Several of us at Mountain View Group work remotely, and our team works with creatives across cities, states, and countries.

Problem? Nope.

Why?

At MVG, we understand that a good culture transcends needing to be in the room. We seek out expert storytellers with the right fit of skills, experiences, and values. This centralizes our culture and keeps us all on the same page, even across different time zones and languages.

In a fog of workplace change initiatives, good leaders are lighthouses.

The role of leadership goes far beyond announcing mergers or presenting rebrands — in uncertain storms of change, company leaders must bring light, clarity, and empathy to their people.

Leadership is the most effective when employees are invited “into the circle” and shown how company transformation will support their careers paths, aspirations, and values.

Meet the Crew: Thom Gonyeau, Principal. Thom runs like a well-oiled machine and still keeps his clients happy. When he’s not “bossing” you might find him working out, traveling, or conquering a “to-do” list. We might describe Thom as an organizer, martini connoisseur and Effy’s Executive Walker. He would describe as “Conscientious.”

Stop making advertisements — start telling stories.

By leaning into brand storytelling, you present the evidence your audience needs in a way that keeps them “hooked”.

Data and product specs aren’t always exciting. But when you turn them into a story with unique conceptual visuals, sound, and messaging, a launch becomes an experience.
