Today, Antwan “AJ” Harrison Mogul also known as Demi God AJ presented his capstone, “Youth Gun Violence in Georgia,” through the R.I.S.E. UP. Youth Leadership Program.
These three clips capture his introduction, his perspective, and his call to action.
But AJ didn’t stop with the presentation. He took his research a step further and developed his work into a published white paper, creating something that can continue the conversation long after today.
We are incredibly grateful to the DeKalb County Office of Youth Services and the DeKalb County Commissioners for investing in young people and creating spaces where their voices can truly be heard.
Thank you to the R.I.S.E. UP. program facilitators, including Dr. Porteous, for challenging, guiding, and pouring into these young leaders.

AJ’s message today was bigger than one presentation:
Young people don’t have to wait until adulthood to have something meaningful to contribute. Give them the opportunity. Give them the room. And when they speak listen.
