Normalize saying
🚫 'I do not empathize with you"
To parents making poor choices and making excuses about how a trauma made them do it

To staff pretending to be invested in children but dropping the ball once drop offs are over

To the state who thinks hiring more authorities with clipboards instead of support staff for the "new changes" to be enforced or used properly is best

To a friend who whispers juicy gossip to you about an adult/parent when they know this drama or gossip involves the well being of a child but AHT AHT they will "mind their own business" when it comes to ACTUALLY standing on business and finding help for the child..its just entertaining to talk about

To another round of people asking for you to sign a petition... DOING the work with children is all that we need. A COMMUNITY on the ground
It's sad that parents with children with special needs and parents who WANT to be involved but are loosing faith are leaving...spreading out

No ribbon cutting...no downtown event is doing it for these children
A community that is one another's VILLAGE is what it takes.

Think I'm talking crazy? How well staffed.is your program? And if so how often do your staff threaten to quit or expose something they already should have.
The veil can only be pulled so many times.
I know enough about this industry. It's why I moved on but fight for what's right.

BTW If you're in child care services to throw your weight around...sit...just take a seat

Spring cleaning? Wellllllllllll don't forget the toys 🧑
It's easy to breeze past the toys in your home finding yourself fairly satisfied with them being picked up, organized and out of the way.
We spend quite some time during the winter snugged up inside staying warm and often fighting sick season
With that in mind.. as we began to open windows, spend the weekends outside, and invite friends over more.. consider spraying and wiping down all of your child(rens) toys, soak them if possible, wash your stuffies.. you just might be surprised at how much dirt and buildup sticks to toys. As you welcome other children or new friends..consider doing a quick wipe down here and there after their visit.

Sick season rolls around again before summer hits

Or dont...and watch the community around you continue to deteriorate for the kids that need you to be a part of a VILLAGE.
Nothing adults in any one community experience matters when it comes to big changes needed for children to retain care and good educational and developmental support.. the excuses parents have made for providers and themselves as to why they are not fighting to do better or FOR better is sad.
Please heal yourself but put your child's needs FIRST.

This page will get less formal this summer ..so your following or lack there of is respected and appreciated...
I see some have tuned in...some have assumed I've tuned out.. thanks for being aware whether we are on the same page or not.. I've sat back to watch some situations in childcare in the Rutland community and surrounding area play out because I was not joking when I said I am absolutely heartbroken about the lack of support from the state towards communities and childcare programs, the lack of support amongst workers in the industry, the lack of support amongst parents in the community and the lack of ACCOUNTABILITY that the State of Vermont and even parents put on the INDIVIDUAL WORKERS who violate regulations..
Get a clue... a director or owner can be present ..enforce rules etc..but in small moments with children adults with bad intentions can easily do something that brings licensing into the building..their protocol is archaic and allows that "violating" staff member to have the daycare blamed for their misbehavior while their waving hello to you at a new program as a "new staff member" elsewhere because the other program "had to much drama" or whatever asinine excuse they can come up with..and no you don't know when some of the worst behaved teachers are some of the communities favorites (ego...ego gets the best of some)
I know enough to be dangerous so if you feel bothered enough by my raw and blatant calling out of specifics in this industry block me..because I've really not even gotten started

If I know you could be the change and choose not to be .. I'm calling you out..so don't drive in this lane unless "ya changin"
I'm done buttoning my lips. I've invested in special needs children, adults and helping the less fortunate now ...and I am committed to informing this community on my perspectives and FACTS about this area and the childcare industry. "Leaders" are out here asking for more grants but they need to do more ON THE GROUND..
THERE ALSO NEEDS TO BE A DATABASE TRACKING THE HISTORY OF WORKERS NOT JUST PROGRAMS
you all are quick to run to the brightfutures site for program history..ever wonder why you see so many staff bouncing from one to another then back again? ... your "favorite teacher" is only seen by you in "snapshots" when you stop in to pick up and drop off and they alllllllllll put on their best when parents are around as they should...but KNOW you know them before they are on a pedestal and the program is dirt under your feet.
ALSO
parents STOPPPPP bringing more problems to these programs by blaming them for circumstances that you deal with outside of daycare hours ..if you're not satisfied ..pull your kids..or know the regs and call..stop threatening and just do it so change can come
Be the change
Don't gossip w daycare staff
Donate to other families
Don't judge families who attend and treat programs like they are less than because of who attends or who works there (unless they need to be reported)
Know your regulations
Start there
And yes I'm feisty about this. This pot has been brewing for a while. I plan to be entertaining and informative.
This is how I push for the change. I've moved on but it still matters ❀️
Actually read the regulations

MOST STAFF HAVE NOT READ IT AT ALL
