A powerful new presence has arrived in New York’s Times Square. “Grounded in the Stars” by artist Thomas J. Price is a 12-foot bronze sculpture of a young Black woman in everyday clothes, standing tall and unapologetic. You can find it on the north side of Duffy Square now through June 17. Price hopes the work inspires reflection on representation and greater cultural diversity.

Virginia Giuffre, a prominent survivor of Jeffrey Epstein’s s*x trafficking ring, has died by su***de at her home in Neergabby, Australia, at age 41, according to her family.

Giuffre was a central figure in exposing Epstein’s abuse and testified against Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate, who was found guilty of s*x trafficking underage girls.

Giuffre accused Epstein of trafficking her to powerful men, including modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel and Prince Andrew. She settled a lawsuit with Prince Andrew in 2022 and testified against Brunel in 2021. Brunel died by su***de in jail in 2022.

In Dec. 2019, Giuffre tweeted: “I am making it publicly known that in no way, shape or form am I suicidal.” Her death has sparked controversy and conspiracies. ✨

On April 5, 2025, millions of people protested across the U.S. as part of the ‘Hands Off!’ movement. Women played a significant role in gatherings in cities such as Boston, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and D.C. The protests were sparked by opposition to Project 2025, which activists fear will negatively affect Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and the Department of Education. Here are pics of female protestors standing up for their rights and advocating for a fairer future. On sign read: “Put women in charge of everything.”

Arabella Mansfield made history as the first female lawyer in the U.S. in 1869, at a time when only men were allowed to take the bar exam. 💪 That didn’t stop her! She took the exam anyway, scored high, and was admitted to the Iowa bar, paving the way for women in law.

Her courage and determination helped open doors for future generations of female attorneys. 🏛💡 A true trailblazer!

In 1951, Henrietta Lacks, a young mother of five, unknowingly made history when doctors at Johns Hopkins took a sample of her cervical cancer cells. Unlike any before, her cells, known as "HeLa" cells, never stopped growing.

🧬 HeLa cells have been at the heart of medical breakthroughs for over 70 years, helping scientists:
✔ Develop the polio and COVID-19 vaccines 💉
✔ Study cancer, viruses, and the human genome 🔬
✔ Test the effects of drugs, toxins, and radiation 🚀

Though Henrietta Lacks passed away at just 31 years old, her legacy lives on, saving lives across the globe. 💙
