Youāre a restaurant. You should be focusing on food, beverages and special events.
.Right?
Yes, social media is a marketing tool, and yes, you can absolutely make sales through social media! However, if youāre not selling a shippable product, this becomes a little more difficult.
Okay, then how does social media fit into my restaurantās marketing plan?
So glad you asked! When I onboard a new client, I like to say that social media pages are the billboards you can have for free. More than your website, your social profiles are where potential customers are looking to decide if they want to make that reservation. Yes, they want to see your food and what you have to offer, but what piece of a business makes you really care about it? Why do people have regular spots? Why do some folks get off work and go out to the same spots for happy hour?
You guessed it ā the people.
Studies show that content with faces in it will outperform content without. Weāre psychologically hard-wired to care more when we see a human! How does this apply to your social media?
Sharing your employees will accomplish multiple goals.
Besides driving engagement, these posts will humanize your page, meaning that youāre showing WHO theyāre supporting when they patronize your restaurant! By including personal details about your employees, you get more emotional buy-in from your followers, because now they can walk into your restaurant and feel a little more at home because they see someone they recognize!
Employee features are also shared more often, due to the employees themselves sharing the post, putting new eyes on your content that may not have been there before.
This content addition is an easy and effective way to add variety and up engagement on social media! Will you be trying this out?
