Are you a proud Local 600 Cinematographer? Then vote now in our leadership elections..
Please see below for my quick cheat sheet:

From Paul D Varrieur to :
The Brothers and Sisters of Local 600.
May 12th will be the last day those eligible to vote can do so. I am reaching out to those who have not yet voted, and those members who tend not to vote.
Our recent strike authorization vote yielded an amazing 90% + of eligible voters casting a vote to authorize. Very similar to the 90% of Local 80 members who also voted to authorize a strike.
Yet, local 80's recent April election yielded Voter turnout of just 20%, a fraction of the turnout for the strike authorization vote and the ratification vote last fall.
Does this indicate that the issues that faced all of the bargaining unit 5 months ago have not carried over into local leadership elections this spring?
Is Local 600 in danger of a low voter turn out?
I hope Not. I urge you to vote. The same issues that faced us then, will resurface. They are not GOING AWAY.
Local 600 Members want:
Shorter working days.
Limits to Fraturdays
An end to "Rolling Lunches"
An end and or limit to extremely long hand held takes, for Narrative and Reality shows.
Shop Stewards on every show under contract.
I will fight for the working conditions we all want, the conditions that motivated the 90%+ of us that supported the strike authorization, and ultimately, rejected the ratification.
We deserve better, we, as a membership, cannot get BETTER WITHOUT YOUR VOTE!
Please consider and vote for
1st. National Vice President: Paul D Varrieur
National President: Baird Steptoe SR.
2nd. National Vice President: Mark H Weingartner
