It's back! Our fourth PANA-Rama with a Producer session will feature Lisa Cahn from Hachette Audio and will be held TUESDAY (yes that's different!) November 15 at 1pm PT/4 pm ET/9pm BT.

PANA members are invited to join Hillary Huber in a relaxed conversation about getting cast in audiobooks. Each one-hour live event will feature a producer. Sometimes two! There will be a little conversation and then three narrators at varying levels, selected via lottery, will have the opportunity to read a short excerpt and receive feedback from the producer on how to strengthen their read. This series is presented every other month and aims to educate and encourage PANA narrators.

Sign-ups to participate are open until Friday November 11th. Those selected to read will be notified via email by Sunday November 13th. All others will receive a Zoom link via email the night before the event.

*Note that if you signed up for previous PANA-Rama lottery drawings but weren't selected, those previous attempts remain in the lottery drawing, so you have a better chance in future lottery drawings! Only one sign-up allowed per session, however. (Extras will be deleted from the doc.)

Attention All Union Colleagues Who Do Audiobook Narration Work

Important Notice Regarding: Essential Audiobooks, LLC
This company produces audiobooks and was signed to a contract with SAG-AFTRA.

After failing to pay performers, SAG-AFTRA filed first a grievance and eventually for arbitration in accordance with the contract. Essential Audiobooks did not respond to any communications from either the union or the American Arbitration Association.

Following a favorable award from the arbitrator, SAG-AFTRA filed for judgment in the Supreme Court of New York State and subsequently executed upon the judgment on Catherine O'Brien and Essential Audiobooks. Also, on May 5, 2022, SAG-AFTRA notified Essential Audiobooks, LLC that the union was exercising its right under the Contract to terminate the Agreement upon ninety (90) days written notice.

To date, there has been no response from Essential Audiobooks and the arbitration and subsequent court awards have not been satisfied. As such, with the unanimous support of the SAG-AFTRA Audiobook Steering Committee, the Executive Committee of the National Board of Directors has voted to issue a “No Contract, No Work” order against Essential Audiobooks, LLC.

Therefore, SAG-AFTRA members are hereby informed that no member may accept work with this company until such time as its debts under the contract are paid in full, and a new contract is entered into between SAG-AFTRA and Essential Audiobooks, LLC, and that violation of such order may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the SAG-AFTRA Constitution.

So...

My ex-hubster is insanely talented. His writing is top-notch. His poetry is amazing.

But what he can do visually always floors me. From his photographs to what he creates when he's just playing around with computer programs.

This is a piece he made Turner-esque from a picture of Clevedon Pier (and seeing the pier makes me homesick for England...but I digress).

I think this is breathtaking. I could write an epic fantasy series around this one picture.

I love it. So much, I asked him if I could share it with you. He said yes.

I mean, isn't this FABULOUS!?

Enjoy...hope you're having a great Saturday and...

Rock On!

Ahhh. Something for would be narrators. Think about it.
