Angelo Baque has helped shape the streetwear scene since the 90s, and as streetwear becomes more global, he’s committed to bringing a culturally specific POV rooted in NYC’s past and present.

From his time at Supreme and Stussy to building Awake NY , his newest chapter is interesting because he’s helping heritage brands reconnect to a golden era of New York culture while also connecting it to the present with every collection.

Moves like this not only solidify Awake as a brand, but they position it as a cultural institution, capable of bridging generations and cultures through fashion.

And of course, there’s something brands and brand stewards can take from it.
