In addition to her role at Day1, our special guest panelist, Katie Givens Kime was most recently engaged as the Director of Religion and Civic Engagement for the faith-based media non-profit Odyssey Impact. Katie envisioned, launched, and obtained external sustaining funding for the international Odyssey Fellows Program, which equips faith leaders with new media skills.

Katie regularly broadcasts sermons on Day1, and she served as teaching assistant for 6 semesters of Intro to Preaching at Candler School of Theology, with Rev. Dr. Thomas G. Long and Rev. Dr. Ted A. Smith.

All this to say on Monday, October 23 at 3:50 p.m., Katie will bring her unique insight to our special event panel discussion, Hybrid Worship – a Blessing or a Curse: How have hybrid worship and preaching changed and challenged the church and preachers? She joins Stuart Blythe, and Scott Hoezee

"We are called and empowered to love without fear by looking at the world we have been called out of the cosmos to live in and asking not, 'What does the law allow me to do?' but, 'What does love compel me to do?'" From the sermon, "Do Not Be Afraid to Love," preached for Friends Congregational Church - UCC at 26:07 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqN9MT3-sFQ&t=1569s, inspired by Rev. Jenny McDevitt's "Joseph: A Higher Righteousness of Love," preached on Day1.org.
Atla to partner with Day1 on their grant-funded project from the Lilly Endowment Inc. to help improve accessibility and functionality of the past 75 years of Protestant Hour/Day 1 sermon archives for preachers and teachers of preaching.

"There will be days when your faith by itself is simply not enough. God created you to need the saints. Our faith is incomplete without the faith of others. And what's the point of faith that is empty and powerless?"

Our Senior Pastor, Rev. Jasmine Smothers, is Day1.org's preacher of the week, next week. Check out her message today!
Thank you, Day1.org and Peter Wallace, for having me today! It was a joy and an honor!

You can find it and more at fpcfw.info/pso
Third-year student Salmoon Bashir preached on Ephesians 6:10-20 on Day1.org yesterday: “Pray that we can proclaim the mystery of the gospel and become like Christ by loving one another. Because love is the only way forward. Love is the only way to break the chains of hatred, racism, and classism. Radical love is the only way to bring the prisoners out of the dungeons of evil. Love is the only way to show the light to those who are in darkness.” https://bit.ly/2UFASVB
The last podcast in my player is from August of last year (2020). I can't seem to get any more.
