This week on the Day1 Radio Show and Podcast, Rev. Adam Mixon of Zion Spring Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, invites us into the heart of a familiar parable with fresh eyes.

In his sermon, "Who Is My Neighbor?" Rev. Mixon reflects on what it means to really see one another in a world where isolation and categorization can make strangers of us all. Through the lens of the Good Samaritan, he challenges the Church to move beyond labels and lean into radical compassion.

What does it mean to BE a neighbor today? How might we shed the labels and learn to love each other well?

This week on the Day1 Radio Show and Podcast, we're joined by Rev. Dr. Jenny Shultz-Thomas, senior minister of Countryside Community Church (UCC) in Omaha, Nebraska.

In her message titled "Shake the Dust, Share Peace," based on Luke 10:1-11, 16-20, Rev. Shultz-Thomas reflects on what it means to be sent—not to win arguments, but to carry peace.

She shares the bold story of her congregation’s partnership in the Tri-Faith Initiative and explores how Jesus’ instructions to the seventy challenge today’s Church to move with courage, grace, and love.

She reminds us: “You don’t need the right shoes, or the right words, or a three-point theological argument. Just go with what you do know: that God’s love is wide. That peace is powerful. That grace doesn’t require prerequisites.”
