In accepting the Korea Society’s top bilateral award on behalf of Georgia Wednesday, Gov. Marukan Vinegar's origins in Japan go back to 1649, but its factory in Georgia started five years ago, when it became one of six Japanese firms setting up shop in a single "eco-industrial park" in Griffin, Ga.

We visited today with Japan- America Society of Georgia and Next Generation Manufacturing to see yet another example of how Japanese firms add to the made-in-Georgia story.

Thanks to the Griffin-Spalding County Development Authority for the meeting hospitality and to Marukan for the plant tour.

In tech executive Lalit Dhingra's view, is not a skill to be mastered academically, but a set of lessons to be acquired on a lifelong journey of experience.

He shared his insights gleaned from an India-to-Atlanta odyssey and 40-year career at a recent Authors Amplified event at Arnall Golden Gregory LLP.

We summarize the discussion (and post a link to the full video) here:

https://www.globalatlanta.com/indian-tech-exec-driven-toward-leadership-success-via-atlanta/

For Lalit Dhingra, coming to the United States in 25 years ago was not a clear-cut choice. In 1997, before the new millennium, the path to the U.S. for Indian tech executives was not nearly as well-trodden, and especially in a place like Atlanta, the hurdles for expatriates — such as getting a dri...

Last night, Lalit Dhingra, formerly of NIIT Technologies and current CEO of EnSignis Digital, was gracious enough to share with us leadership lessons from a 40-year career in tech, as outlined in his book “Driven: A Journey to Leadership.”

Incisive insights included how to counter personal bias, handling conflict within teams, the importance of empathy, differences in leading established corporations versus startups, empowering employees versus “spoon-feeding” them, and many more lessons from his leadership journey from to America.

Grateful to Arnall Golden Gregory LLP for hosting and the Atlanta Global Studies Center for its continued support of the Authors Amplified series.
