I’ve seen these in tentacles inside the clouds just one other time and I wouldn’t blame someone for thinking it was photoshopped… From what I can dig up they would be classified as asperitas or virga clouds. Really surreal!

Has anyone witnessed these rare formations in person? If so share your experiences or images in the comments.

This has to in the top 5 strangest cloud formations I’ve seen this year! He’s a real chunky lil bu**er. 😅 The Mammatus are definitely some of my favorite clouds to capture. When they are overhead, you feel like you could just reach up and pluck one out of the sky!

It’s hard to believe August is about start… Only four months until 2027!? 😱 it’s crazy how fast timeis going…
