whoever casted Daeron deserves a raise-

Ormund Hightower emerges as a villainous force in season 3 of House of the Dragon played brilliantly by James Norton.
Taking over as the head of Oldtown after his father Hobert passes away Ormund initially acts like a posh arrogant snob who aggressively sniffs a perfumed pomander because he cannot stand the foul odors of common folk or life on the battle campaign however under that eccentric wealthy exterior hides a volatile religious tanatic who completely despises the silver haired Targaryens viewing them as a profane bunch of alien blood mages who are ruining the continent In a massive departure from the Fire and Blood book where he was just a standard loyal general Ormund is secretly plotting an absolute coup within his own faction to completely bypass Aegon Il and Amond so he can place his young ward Daeron Targaryen on the Iron Throne instead.
Ormund’s terrifying temper and twisted morals take center stage in episode 4 when he marches his massive army into the helpless merchant town of Tumbleton. He acts completely unhinged parading around the local leaders completely naked while postulating about his grand vision for the realm.
While he tries to project a public image of an orderly righteous commander who punishes his own men for stepping out of line his private actions are deeply cruel When he learns that Amond and hagar have failed to arrive to support his position he completely crashes out hacking up a council table with his sword in a massive fit of rage He channels that frustration directly into psychological abuse forcing young Daeron to personally execute a local civilian who struck a Hightower soldier which proves that Ormund is easily the most dangerous unpredictable wild card currently manipulating the war,
