The Last Mas is a limited edition collectible and tribute to the brilliant contemporary works of mas by the artist Minshall. Carnival in Trinidad achieved heightened global recognition during the 1990s which attracted creative teams, historians, and scholars to observe the Emmy®-winning artist Peter Minshall. This limited edition collectible unfolds like its own Carnival band with tempo, rhythm, a
nd scholarly analyses that provide counterpoint and context to rare portraits of Minshall's contemporary works of mas. The Last Mas features the eloquent writing of playwright Tony Hall, art curator Claire Tancons, and U.S.-based scholars Gerard Laurence Aching, Milla Cozart Riggio, Philip W. Scher and Antron D. Mahoney, with a foreword by Patricia Ganase and engaging photo-essays by Sean Drakes. Minshall is distinguished for co-producing the Opening Ceremonies of the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympic Games, 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympic Games, and the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games.
'Minshallites' are encouraged to post personal photos of themself wearing a Minshall mas. Please identify the title of the band and share your memories of dancing the last mas of an era.
