A city girl from Detroit and a country girl from Iron City, GA— and I have many things in common aside from both living by the Kash Kommandments😎😎. We’re both the oldest daughters of single mothers. We both come from hustlers. We’re both single mothers ourselves, building rich legacies for our children. We both love hard, care deeply for our people, and are obsessed with celebrating beautiful, brilliant Black women.

I love what I do. Every day I wake up, my God-given gifts make room for me. I don’t have the capacity for negativity or sickness—I only have room for gratitude. Just thankful to be here, woke and walking in purpose.

Thank you, , for being a dope ass Black woman.

Slow and steady, sis—that’s how you win!

When I started my weight loss journey back in 2017, I was 376 pounds. Today, I’m 176. Let me be clear—it hasn’t been easy. There were days I felt defeated, moments I slipped up (more than once or twice), and times I questioned if I could really do this.

But here’s the truth: I never gave up.

Every journey requires a shift in your mind before you ever see a change in your body. You’ve got to commit to what serves you best and stop clinging to what doesn’t. Don’t lose weight thinking you’ll uncover some “better version” of yourself—because you’ve always been her.

The body may transform, but the real transformation? That happens in your head and in your heart.

Today, I present my 12th Annual Life Styled Honors.A girl who was given nothing.A woman who was almost broken.Who endured abuse—emotional, physical, spiritual, and mental.I share this so you know: God can do anything… and so can you.I started Life Styled Honors because I saw a need—not for a fashion show, but for a show of appreciation for women who lacked love and support. For women who lacked encouragement. For women who lacked celebration—not because they didn’t deserve it, but because they didn’t fit the image society told us we needed to have in order to hold value.Twelve years later, as I reflect on the lives changed and the beauty I’ve witnessed, I’ve learned this: success isn’t money. Success is love. Success is peer support. Success is provoking change. It’s shifting the mental and emotional landscape of your community. It’s curating a legacy that is rich, bold, unapologetic, and resilient. It’s showing up beautiful and brilliant, no matter the storm. So yes—this is my happy ending. Life Styled Honors isn’t ending because it didn’t work. It’s ending because it worked so well, there’s no longer a need for this space to be only for the women I first served. It’s ending because it’s time to tell a new story—my way—just like I did here.Sis, two things can be true at the same time:You can end something and be sad.You can start something new and be filled with joy. Here’s to endings. Here’s to beginnings. Here’s to the women who will always be Life Styled Honors. ❤️✨
