Coming Soon, beginning this Friday! A feast for the ears, we will once again will offer up our annual traditional,

𝕊𝕝𝕠𝕨 ℝ𝕠𝕝𝕝 ℍ𝕠𝕝𝕚𝕕𝕒𝕪𝕤

Our brand of holiday music is old-school. We play only the truly classic music from the era of the Greatest Generation - our music is primarily pre-1970. Beginning November 28, we'll ease in to the season with the following schedule:

Week 1: one holiday classic played every fourth song
Week 2: one holiday classic played every third song
Week 3: every other song is holiday-themed
Week 4: all holiday, all the time

We'll include a few holiday commercials along the way (not sponsored, just memories from the day).

Give us a listen!

From Wikipedia:

Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive was a popular song which was published in 1944. The music was written by Harold Arlen and the lyrics by Johnny Mercer. The song was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 18th Academy Awards in 1945 after being used in the film Here Come the Waves.

You've got to ac-cent-tchu-ate the positive
E-lim-i-nate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mr. In-Between
You've got to spread joy up to the maximum
Bring gloom down to the minimum
Have faith, or pandemonium
Liable to walk upon the scene
To illustrate his last remark
Jonah in the whale, Noah in the ark
What did they do
Just when everything looked so dark?
Man, they said we better
Ac-cent-tchu-ate the positive
E-lim-i-nate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mr. In-Between
No, do not mess with Mr. In-Between
Do you hear me?
Oh, listen to me children and, uh, you will hear
About eliminatin' of the negative and an accent on a positive
And gather 'round me children if you willin'
And sit tight while I start reviewin' the attitude of doin' right
You gotta ac-cent-tchu-ate the positive
E-lim-i-nate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mr. In-Between
You got to spread joy up to the maximum
Bring gloom down to the minimum
Then (otherwise), otherwise
Pandemonium liable to walk upon the scene
well, illustrate
(My last remark) you got the floor
Jonah in the whale, Noah in the ark
(What did they say?) What did they say?
(Say, when everything looked so dark?)
Man, they said we better
Ac-cent-tchu-ate the positive
E-lim-i-nate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mr. In-Between
No, don't mess with Mr. In-Between

From Wikipedia:

"Begin the Beguine" was a popular song written by Cole Porter. Porter composed the song during a 1935 Pacific cruise aboard the Cunard ocean liner Franconia from Kalabahi, Indonesia, to Fiji. In October 1935, it was introduced by June Knight in the Broadway musical Jubilee, produced at the Imperial Theatre in New York City.

The first successful recording was a swing orchestral version released by Artie Shaw and His Orchestra in 1938. In 1981, Julio Iglesias released a Spanish language version which reached No. 1 on the U.K. chart, the first fully Spanish song to top the chart in the country.

When they begin the beguine
It brings back the sound of music so tender
It brings back a night of tropical splendor
It brings back a memory ever green

I'm with you once more under the stars
And down by the shore an orchestra's playing
And even the palms seem to be swaying
When they begin the beguine

To live it again is past all endeavor
Except when that tune clutches my heart
And there we are, swearing to love forever
And promising never, never to part

What moments divine, what rapture serene
Till clouds came along to disperse the joys we had tasted
And now when I hear people curse the chance that was wasted
I know but too well what they mean;

So don't let them begin the beguine
Let the love that was once a fire remain an ember;
Let it sleep like the dead desire I only remember
When they begin the beguine

Oh yes, let them begin the beguine, make them play
Till the stars that were there before return above you
Till you whisper to me once more
"Darling, I love you!"
And we suddenly know, what heaven we're in
When they begin the beguine

This is a sound popular throughout the world, performed by The Artie Shaw Orchestra. The great sound of big bands.

From Wikipedia:

Happiness Is is a 1966 LP by Ray Conniff. The title track, and single, "Happiness Is" is a song written by Paul Parnes and Paul Evans, a modified version of the song was later used for four years as an advertising jingle for Kent ci******es.

That's what happiness is
Happiness is (Happiness is)
Happiness is (Happiness is)
Happiness is (Happiness is)
Different things to different people
That's what happiness is

To the preacher
It's a prayer, prayer, prayer
To the Beatles
It's a "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah"
To the golfer
It's a hole in one
To the father
It's a brand new son

Happiness is (Happiness is)
Happiness is (Happiness is)
Happiness is (Happiness is)
Different things to different people
That's what happiness is

To the beatnik
It's his beard, beard, beard
To the monster
Something wierd, wierd, wierd
To a night owl
It's a good days sleep
To the Yankee's
It's a four game sweep

Happiness is (Happiness is)
Happiness is (Happiness is)
Happiness is (Happiness is)
Different things to different people
That's what happiness is

On the desert
It's a drink, drink, drink
To the show girl
It's a mink, mink, mink
To the banker
Lots and lots of dough
To a racer
It's a GTO
To a sailor
It's the sea, sea, sea
To my mother
Why, it's me, me, me
To the birdies
It's the sky above
But, to my mind
It's the one I love

Happiness is (Happiness is)
Happiness is (Happiness is)
Happiness is (Happiness is)
Different things to different people
That's what happiness is
Happiness is!
