Finally made myself some winding sticks

Had a maple scrap roughly 16" x 1.5" x .75". Ripped it slightly off the center line to add the walnut scrap for contrast. Planed the hell out of it because everything in my shop twists like crazy. Remembered I'm a dummy and could forget the nice, square maple block is that way for a reason, so inlaid some bloodwood arrows that also mark the center on that one.

N3 Nano Dull Spots

Does anybody have experience working with N3 Nano? I’ve used it on multiple tables and have never run into this issue. After two coats of Rubio and letting it cure for a week and a half, the hard coat of the N3 is leaving these dull spots on this walnut desk. I’ve done 3 coats of the hard coat and the dull spots still exist. I haven’t done the top coats yet because I don’t want to get too deep if I’m going to have to sand it all back down.

Little spent to build

Nothing is plumb but we had a blast building. Our chickens are having the time of their life!

All wood was free (spent 2 years scavenging wood). All welded wire was free. Purchased 2 rolls of chicken wire for 15$ ea. Purchased 3 corrugated panels for the top. Purchased 4 pier blocks. We did buy the chickens too! Ha! I say we walked away with a total win. Watching chickens is probably one of the most zen things ever lollllll. Also - guard dog on duty!

Just found out I have mold behind drywall. What to expect?

So I had water pooling in my basement the other night. As a plumber hunted down the leak he discovered that the drywall below my toilet was soaked. He cut into it and found black mold. His company protocol forced him to stop and call for remediation. I have them coming out today or tomorrow.

I’m a little nervous about what’s going to happen next. The leak is affecting the ceiling and drywall all around my front door. The swelling is so bad that it cannot open or close properly.

So homeowners won’t cover things that are long term, which I learned means more than only 14 days. Fu***ng insane. How much money could this cost? Should I expect to remodel my bathroom? Is my front door fu**ed?

White and yellow onions today, the red onions need a little more time in the ground. The goal is to use this drying rack for both onions and garlic in the future. Built it for cheap! The garage reeks!

What is the cause of this?

Boards are all done the exact same way.
1: sand
2: precondition
3: stain 8hr dry (minwax red mahogany)
4: seal 4 hr dry per manufacture (Bona amber seal)
5: Minwax ultra flat polyurethane 4 hr dry
6: sand 220
7: tac
8: last coat of poly
The last coat seemed to lift off the previous.

I’m lost why two boards are flawless and the other went to complete s**t.

Thanks for the advice.
