Once again Carpenter handled the film score following his breakout film Halloween. The soundtrack features more state of the art synths but the arrangements for the Fog are more lush and intricately woven including everything from ambient drone to the catchy motifs that would become Carpenter’s staple.

Happy Birthday Sean S. Cunningham, director of Friday The 13th and co-creator of the franchise!

b. Dec 31st, 1941

Raised in Connecticut, Cunningham graduated from Franklin & Marshall College before earning an MFA from Stanford University. After completing his education, he worked as a manager for various theater companies, including New York City’s Lincoln Center and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. While working for a documentary company in New York, Cunningham made his feature film directorial debut with The Art of Marriage (1970). While editing his second film, he met Wes Craven, with whom he collaborated as a producer of Craven’s exploitation horror film The Last House on the Left (1972).
Cunningham went on to co-create and direct the slasher film Friday the 13th (1980)

His expansive and iconic body of work includes sci-fi/horror films such as Shivers (1975), Scanners (1981), Videodrome (1983), and The Fly (1986).
