Used an old corner side table, removed the drawer/ cabinets. Painted, put some brick wallpaper/ backsplash on the inside, added wood and then added lights. This is a clever idea and gives off the same pretty and warm feeling a fireplace does.

This is a bird house, right?!

I inherited 3 of these beautiful things. Totally thought they were houses. My dad (grew up with these in his yard) told me they are bird feeders.

I’ve had them hanging since April and no birds have claimed occupancy. What kind of bird would like this house? And if it IS actually a feeder, what kind of food would I put in here?

EDIT: okay yall I have been humbled 😂 I’m new to the bird watching thing!!!! My grandmother lived in the south for all but the last year of her life and I actually never got to see her set up. She loved all things nature. Thank you all for setting me straight so I can continue her nature loving legacy here in the Midwest 🪶🪶🪶

This was the view from our bedroom window this morning.
We moved back here to Mount Gambier in South Australia just over a year ago after 5 years living in Northern Thailand. We ripped out the very overgrown vegetation and replaced it all with Australian natives (mostly Grevillea) which are growing very well.
Love the reflection of the sunrise on the birdbath!
