How to Do a
Body Scan Meditation

1. Close your eyes & focus on your breath

2. Bring awareness to a specific part of your body
3. Spend 20-60 seconds noticing sensations

4. Imagine tension decreasing with each breath
5. Release your focus on that part of your body

6. Move to the next part of your body and continue
7. If your thoughts wander, gently bring your
awareness back

8. After several scans, let your awareness travel
across your whole body

9. Release your focus & come back to your
surroundings
