Congrats to the The Mother Hips Greg Loiacono on his new project, Greg Loiacono & Stingray, a dynamic, genre-blending band featuring some of the San Francisco Bay Area’s finest musicians, including Vicki Randle (Mavis Staples, George Benson), Michael Urbano (Lindsey Buckingham, Smash Mouth, John Hiatt), Kofy Brown, and Danny Eisenberg. Today, they release their first single, "Hope We Get To Dance," a groovy, falsetto-fueled, wicka-wicka, soulful piece of rock and roll that's just a taste of what's to come.

We are incredibly proud to have so many artists on the Crossover roster honored by the International Bluegrass Music Association with nominations for this year’s Bluegrass Music Awards. What a list of nominees! There’s no question that bluegrass is in a very good place and we are thrilled to see more fans and inspired pickers coming to this great branch of the American musical tradition every day. Congrats to all the nominees!

Happy New Music Friday! Join us today in congratulating both and on the release of new albums, both of which represent reintroductions and major musical advancements.

For Paul, “So Long to the Dark Side” is the culmination of years of grinding in Nashville, finding just the right songs, just the right band, just the right time to re-introduce himself to an audience that maybe doesn’t know him as well as they thought. It is alternatingly hard-rocking and delicately sweet, and full of catchy choruses you’ll be singing along to in the car.

For the Wildmans, “Longtime Friend” is a step change, an album that acknowledges their deep roots carved out of Floyd, Virginia, but also finds them aware of the contemporary sounds that make their new songs ripple with urgency and desire. Aila and Elisha prove themselves here to be vital voices in the vibrant indie-folk space.

Like all of the artists on the Crossover roster, these albums transcend genre and expectations and deliver exciting new work for music lovers of all stripes.
